"The Simple
Rules"
-
Games can be
played 1-on-1 or 2-on-2.
-
Four quoits are
used, two for each team. Two boards are
needed.
-
Set the boards
18 feet apart from center pin to center pin.
-
The throwing
alternates between teams. One quoit at a
time.
-
Points are
scored when a quoit lands on the board and
is closer to the pin than the other quoits.
This earns 1 point. If a quoit is thrown to
ring the pin ("a ringer"), 3 points is
awarded. If no quoits remain on the board
after all 4 quoits are thrown, no points are
awarded. It is possible to have one team
have two quoits closer to the pin than the
opposition. In this case, 2 points are
awarded. Also, if one team scores a ringer
and has its other quoit closer than the
opposition, 4 points is awarded.
-
Game is played
until one team reaches 21, winning by at
least two.
